Additional Details
First introduced in 1956, the Rolex Day-Date has long been recognized as the ultimate symbol of prestige, with its all-gold construction serving as a mark of both luxury and status. Throughout history, U.S. presidents and world leaders have chosen the Day-Date as their timepiece of choice, cementing its legacy as a watch of distinction.
The Rolex Day-Date 18248 is a rare gem in the world of the iconic Day-Date line. Produced in limited numbers from 1988 to early 1990s, this reference stands out as one of the final “bark-finished” models ever crafted by Rolex, making it highly sought after by collectors. Unlike the more common 18238, which features a polished bezel and center links, the 18248 boasts a distinctive, textured bark finish on both the bezel and the President bracelet’s center links— a bold statement of elegance and exclusivity.
The 18248, a member of the fourth generation of Day-Dates, launched in 1988, was the first to feature the improved Caliber 3155 movement. This technical upgrade introduced a dual quickset function, allowing for easier adjustment of both the day and date, further enhancing the Day-Date’s functionality without compromising its legendary craftsmanship.
This particular N Series example produced back in circa 1991, is presented in extraordinary, original condition. The 36mm case, made from 18k yellow gold, retains its sharp contours, with crisp lugs and a flawless bark finish that appears untouched.
The champagne tapestry dial is complemented by applied gold stick markers and tritium-coated hands, still glowing faintly, preserving the watch’s vintage character. The President bracelet, with its iconic bark-finished center links, remains in outstanding condition with minimal stretch & overall solid robust feel.
Accompanying this exceptional timepiece are its original box, accessories and its Singapore’s warranty certificate dated 3 Aug 1994, further attesting to its well-preserved condition as an ideal complete collector’s set.
Finding a Rolex Day-Date 18248 in this pristine, all-original condition is incredibly rare. This example stands out not only for its exclusivity but also for its well-preserved state, don’t miss the opportunity to own it now!
