Here with us is a Rolex daytona 116519 that is literally out of this world. This daytona features a dial which is constructed from one of the rarest materials ever found on earth, the Gibeon meteorite.
Meteorite is one of the most fascinating objects/materials you can find on Earth, most likely originated from the heart of an asteroid or a piece of molten planetary core, which was released when the planet broke apart billions of years ago.
The meteorite then propelled its way gradually through space, traveling for millions of years until chance brings it into our planet’s orbit and gravity pulls it to Earth. As the molten meteorite traveled, it cooled in the vacuum of space. While slowly cooling, the famous Widmanstätten pattern is formed. Since the unique pattern seen on meteorite dials is completely naturally occurring, no two meteorite dials will look exactly alike.
